Slow down

Hello...

I have been M.I.A from my blog for a little while because I have been working on a special project for a friend and her daughter, Leah.

But now the gift has been given, I can now share with you a few of the pages from the album I have given as a gift for this little one's first day at school.

I selected 20 photos from the first 5 years of Leah's life to focus on the story of her life so far.  I was inspired by a video of photos my friend made of this very special little girl with a soundtrack of Nichole Nordeman's "Slow down".

So here's a selection of the 20 layouts I created for my friend...

I used as much pink throughout for Leah and also some blue for her mum.  This album was a gift for a mum wishing that her youngest would slow down growing up so fast

The above layout was the wedding of Leah's Mum and Dad so it produced some wonderful photos... in order to get them all in I used a washing line effect of little 2.5' by 2.5' photos

I love the photo in the above layout because even though it's capturing Leah's first eisteddfod, it's also seeing her with her dad and, I had to quote "You will always be my world" because both of them are besotted with the other.  I did include the word Dancing above the photo to bring it back to the event.

In the above layout, Leah was sad about the snow melting outside so this little snowman was the remnants of the snow outside.  So I had to use the obligatory quote about building a snowman.

This is one of my favourites of the album, with a doily bunting and simple white embellishments making the photo stand out.  I cut around the photo because her smile and personality needed no background distractions.

This was the last layout I completed, even though not the last page in the book, I was admittedly running out of ideas and steam, with one night left to get it complete... I was rushing and messed up cutting the photos, to I was running around to Officeworks to desperately print them again.  I am happy with the end result here.  There is simplicity but also the beautiful papers succeed in making it another album worthy layout.

I hope you have enjoyed looking through a selection of my favourites.  I enjoyed making this album for a spectacular little girl who is going to absolutely ace Kindergarten and her parents.

Hopefully it's an album to treasure for years to come.

Thank you for popping by.
